A Bottom-Up Revolution

myKasi360° is a non-profit company whose goal is to completely revolutionise the contours of township development. We advocate for a bottom-up approach to policy design and problem-solving.

We believe that without the initiative and genuine buy-in of people on the ground, all efforts towards development are ultimately doomed to fail. That is why our model is rooted in the community — not imposed on it.

Operating in the northern townships of the City of Tshwane, we are building a template we intend to replicate across South Africa.

Core Principles

  • 1. Enterprise Development Unleashing entrepreneurship to fundamentally alter economic conditions in townships.
  • 2. Social Mobility Launching young people onto an upward trajectory through education and mentorship.
  • 3. Social Engagement Creating the conditions for genuine, bottom-up policy development and community voice.

Four Interconnected Pillars

Our work revolves around four pillars designed to create a self-reinforcing ecosystem of ideas, capital, and human potential.

Enterprise Development

Primary Focus — 60%

Channeling entrepreneurship towards infrastructure and public benefit. Includes film production to popularise the mission and incubation services for SMMEs in the township economy.

Social Mobility

Project Mathona & Spatial Justice

High-performance academic support for gifted students in Grades 6–12. Connecting learners with mentors and advocating for housing closer to economic opportunity.

Grassroots Research

Action-Research

Hosting community dialogues on urban design, electricity, and transport. Using data to identify and articulate opportunities for impactful investment.

Impact Investing

Conduit PBO Role

Directing capital toward beneficial community projects — clinics, roads, creches. Using Special-Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to structure and draw responsible financing.
